About TS&E

In 2002, after more than 30 years of researching and formulating synthetic lubricants, I bootstrapped TriboScience & Engineering. I wanted to break free and explore a new business model, one that offers other companies a way to capture or increase their share of global synthetic lubricant sales.

My business model is a simple one: TS&E formulates and manufactures synthetic lubricants; you sell them as your private-label brands.

I saw several market niches that could profit from this business model. Global synthetic lubricant manufacturers sometimes forego new small-volume, custom-formulation opportunities because projected sales do not justify the time and expense required to develop and test a new lubricant. Not only do they lose potential sales, they may leave their customers feeling that sales volume — not service — is the ultimate goal. With TS&E, synthetic lubricant manufacturers can expand their R&D capacity — and service small-volume sales opportunities efficiently and profitably.

Companies who resell others' brands of synthetic lubricants may be missing an opportunity to promote their own brands instead and, in doing so, increase their profit margins and their customers' loyalty.
Industrial suppliers who want to add new profits centers can also benefit from working with TS&E. Their customers likely use grease for production machinery and general plant maintenance. With their own line of synthetic greases, industrial supply companies open new sales opportunities among current and prospective customers.
